The question is....is she really fat? This is a picture of a victorian woman.

She got big thighs and a blubber trunk. But she is a model, and proudly posing in a semi transparent clothing. She got no issues about her body.Go back a few hundred years and here is a prince waving at the women of his harem. No jumbo jusg,no big hooters, and lot of big thighs and rears.Yet they are hand picked women for the royal harem, posing proudly for the prince.Any of these women in this day and age will have self esteem issues due to their physique, and will be seen in a gym most of the time.
The purpose of this blog post is to point out that the concept of beauty has changed over the years, and there is evidence that the things that currently stress out the modern women and give them psycological dilemmas, were once components of beauty.
In my opinion women's standard of beauty is comparable with cars.Decades ago,big chunky cars were teh norm, now sleek and streamlined designs are in vogue.Same with women.

i have noticed that. i asked a history teacher about it a long time ago, and he said that big bodies meant prosperity. for a man to have curvy, filled out wife meant he could take care of her, and improved his status.
Marylin Monroe was a size 14 i always point out. so beauty has even changed that much that recently. scary! -

You are absloutely right, women are so hung up on themselves now because such vanity and self absorption is encouraged by stupid magazines with stick thin models in them! Yay for the bigger gal x

YEP, definitely. the concepts have changed drastically even in the third world countries. for example pakistan has recently discovered fashion and women have gone crazy, dieting and working out. i am a slim person i guess naturally so everyones asking me if i spend all my day at the gym but the real reason for my being fit is my 3 extremely energetic kids so i dont get a second to sit down, the routine is so tough. we are all on the go. the aunties and khalas and chachis all take pity at me saying
oor thing looks emaciated, she must be constantly on a diet. to the contrary i eat enough for two
, my hubby will testify to that but its all spent running around. that also made me realize how aunties from the last generation dont accept thinness as a good thing. for them beauty is healthy women with a little fat that can be held on to by their spouses
(feel sorry for my hubby though !)-
