I bought a kodak easyshare camera, really cheap from a car boot sale.It was boxed and when i came home and opened the box, there was no battery.Googled for the type of battery suitable for this model and had to buy from hong kong as UK prices were expensive. The battery arrived in a week and i charged it,then put it inside the camera, and surprise surprise, the camera powered on,only to reveal that the LCD screen at the back was cracked and without it the camera was almost useless.
Found a specialist camera repair company in Staffordshire, rang them up and they gave me a £66 quote for replacing the LCD.
After Googling about the procedure for changing the camera's LCD,i found that it was a simple task but the replacement LCD was not available in UK and the only seller i could find for this exact model was in USA.cost me another £40 and 15 days for the LCD to arrive.
Eventually the camera cost me more than the price of a brand new one from a high street retailer, but all sorted now and its working perfectly

Thanks for asking jen.I am from the north Pakistan, and the earthquake was in the Midwest.None of my family members or friends live there.Things haven't been going in the right direction for my country lately.Hope all will be fine,or at least better soon.

No, they haven't...so many countries are in a state of turmoil now...when you have nature to combat as well, it gets even more difficult...glad nobody you are connected to has been affected by the quake, but still awful for those experiencing it...they sound as if they didn't have much to begin with...hmmm...GBHs...XX

What Jen said about carboots.
I am wary of buying second hand stuff and prefer newer things people haven't touched
