Death tolls
@ 2008-05-30 – 03:57:01
If "bloodiest" is in terms of lives lost then this would be the order (formal war)
1. WW2, with a conservative estimate of 56.4 million. The country that suffered most in proportion to its population was Poland, with 6,028,000 deaths, equivalent to 17.2% of its total population.
The Soviet Union lost an estimated 26.6 million of its citizens.2.WW1 with About 8,500,000 soldiers were killed and civilian death toll is is over 20,000,000. These are based on conservative estimates.
3.Russian Civil war with 20 million dead
4. Thirsty Years War, 17th century which killed 9 million and had a mortality rate of 15-20% for Germany.
-----------
If "bloodiest" war is in regard to most lives lost in a "military campaign" (not formal war)1.Mongol invasions of Europe and Asia in the 1500s cost 60,000,000 lives - which is a much more significant proportion of the world's population at the time.
2. Chinese revolution and Mao Zedong (mostly famine) with 40 million dead.
alternative 2. An Lushan Revolt , 8th Century with 36 million dead
3. Fall of the Ming Dynasty, 17th century with 25 million dead
4.Taiping Rebellion, 19th Century with 20 million dead
Looking at all that,i feel like living in some golden era. -

Please send them to work for atleast another ten years and save some money of the japanese tax payers.thanks,

Booo for mount everest
@ 2008-05-26 – 20:38:45
A 75 years old man lost the race of being the oldest to climb the tallest man on earth, when a 76 years old reached the summit a day earlier

Is mount everest that easy to climb? Or these are some super natural people with mystical powers.
I have been trekking to the world's second tallest mountain, called K2 or Godwin Austin. It is in the northern regions of my home country Pakistan. the first sight of the majestic wall of ice and rocks made me shiver.
Over 2500 people have conquered Mount Everest to this date, but only a handful could ever reach the summit of K2 alive.

@ 2008-05-26 – 00:22:42
Today an idea came to my mind that i should launch a website to sell some kinda stuff. The domain name had to have the word "buyer" in the end for example ebuyer.com.
But after searching for available domain names, which hadn't been already taken, the only website name still free to launch ending with the word "buyer" was..........Anybody interested?

My new car L@@K
@ 2008-05-25 – 23:09:16
I was thinking of switching over to horse riding, due to high fuel price, but prydwen sent me the following calculations.
"Disregarding the initial cost of buying a horse (about a grand) the upkeep would amount to.
A stabled horse would cost £3,300-£4,950 a year
A horse in the field would cost £2,057-£2,710 a yearThe Average horse can travel between 25 and 30 miles a day.
That's 45p a mileThe average car is 22p a mile."
It appears that keeping a horse is more expensive than a car.
So here is my new mode of transport...(my new car)

The run away plane
@ 2008-05-24 – 00:09:13
My nephew has called me from Australia and he wants his Radio controlled toy plane sent back to him.
He was flying his remote controlled toy plane in a park in sydney and it went out of range, and kept on flying until it went out of sight.
He told me that the plane flew in the direction of England, and i must have seen it somewhere.
He is only 7,so i told him that i will look for his lost plane.

Dope and the doofus
@ 2008-05-18 – 23:27:23
Thats the new "democratically elected" prime minister of Pakistan, feeling proud and on top of the world, and having the time of his life.
USA regularly sends drones in Pakistani territory adjoining Afghanistan, and regularly these unmanned aircrafts fire missiles on suspects. Most of the time they are innocent poor people, sleeping with kids and family in their home, and the missiles send them to permanent sleep.
Did he ever raise this matter in front of papa george bush? No,i am sure he was shaking in his boots when he met the Almighty Bush in sharam al sheikh (egypt) -

Noisiest underwater creature
@ 2008-05-12 – 04:03:17
The noise seriously interferes with military and scientific sonar used to detect underwater objects.
"They disturb underwater communication between submarines - and hostile submarines use colonies of them to hide," said Professor Detlef Lohse, also based at the University of Twente.

Are we Schizophrenic
@ 2008-05-11 – 22:46:29
Go back 300 years, and a rich man/woman would be wearing a diamond necklace, and all his/her gold bars were locked up in his own cellar, instantly accessible, visible, and touchable.
Ordinary people used to have a safe hidden somewhere in the house or around the house, and there they kept all their money. They could touch it see it,anytime they wanted.
Today we are happy to see a piece of paper with some numbers written on it (bank statement) and our money is always in someone else's control. -

Kuwait
@ 2008-05-09 – 10:54:29
Yesterday i met a Palestinian man living here in the North West England, and he told me that he was born in Kuwait, and lived there all his life.
After the Iraqi-Kuwait war, somehow the Kuwaiti officials decided that since Palestinians were supporters of Iraq, lets teach them a lesson.
According to the guy i was talking to,there were about 300,000 Palestinians living there and many of them were born in Kuwait.Regardless of where they were born, the Kuwaitis canceled or took away all the identification documents from ethnic Palestinians.
As a result they can't get any jobs, can't use any medical facility, can't marry and have no rights what so ever.In fact they don't exist.
This was ethnic cleansing, the Kuwaiti way.It started soon after the 1991 gulf war.Kuwaiti police can arrest them without any reason, kick them across the border into any neighboring country or lock them for indefinite period without trial.I sometimes feel strange, about how we humans appear to consider ourselves as the creators/owners/custodians of a certain piece of land, and go below human standards to prove it.

Too green?
@ 2008-05-09 – 10:12:13
I saw a few co-operative stores which no longer provide any free carrier bags to the customers.
They say that there are already too many plastic bags lurking around, and customers should bring their own or buy it from them for 10p each.
Nice move, but i believe they should have continued using bio degradable plastic bags, instead of completely banning them from their stores. -
Where the jews buy
@ 2008-05-08 – 09:53:25
So i never miss the BBC program "the apprentice",and this time it revealed that sir allen sugar is jewish.
I am not good at business (cuz i am not that rich
),but there is a rule of the thumb.Always buy from where the jews buy,and sell when they are selling, you will never lose.
Reason being simple, because somehow most successful businesses of the world are jewish owned, and they are the best in business. -

Paying the price of political tension
@ 2008-05-05 – 00:02:09
About 3 million afghan refugees came to Pakistan during the Afghan USSR war.
They integrated and mixed with the pakistani people, and most of them are now pakistani citizens.
About 200,000 later refugees are living in a settlement near Peshawar Pakistan. They are now being displaces and forcefully sent back to Afghanistan.
Mainly because Pakistan and Afghanistan governaments don't have good relations anymore.
I don't think the country ever had any problems due to these people.Although cocaine and Kalashnikov, came to pakistan with afghan refugees, but thats no reason to forcefully send them back, when they still want to live in Pakistan.
Afghanistan is still unstable, and in a worse economic situation compared to pakistan.
But then its always the masses who pay the price of political correctnes. -
My mom's mercedes
@ 2008-05-04 – 23:38:25
Ok its not a mercedes, its a suzuki alto

My mom forgot to tell me that she had bought it for 2000 pounds (approx),a month ago,and she was so happy to have a car after a long time. Now all she has to do is re-learn driving
Fuel prices in Pakistan now are sky high.A liter of petrol costs about 55 pence (approx),and thats very expensive. Most motorists are now using CNG,because that is abundant and cheaper.
My mom does not know her exact date of birth, and my dad told us that he was born in spring,as thats all he knew.
Dates of birth were not important in their times, and no parents recorded it precisely for their kids.
I never had to say happy birthday to my mom or dad,or to my grandma, aunts or uncles,as they also didn't know their date of birth.

26 degree
@ 2008-05-02 – 11:09:50
During a telephone conversation with my mom in pakistan,i asked about the weather, and i was told that it's nice and cool, and that my mom doesn't need to switch on the aircon, yet.
I asked about the room temperature, and she read it from the thermometer to be 26 degree centigrade.
Thats too warm for UK,but my 65 years old mom was comfy and didn't even use the ceiling fan
