Whats the point?
@ 2008-03-31 – 02:21:00
Why the police HAS to chase every car that tries to flea them.I don't think it should be that necessary without any credible information that the fleeing car has got something to do with some serious crime.
Last year the Independent Police Complaints Commission, which will be investigating this latest incident, gave warning that there were too many fatal pursuits and recommended that police should give chase only when a serious crime had been committed.
Statistics released last month showed that 148 people have died since 2002 in collisions involving police cars. In the past year alone 30 people were killed.
It may be that the driver became too nervous,or afraid by the look of the blue lights behind him/her.Many unnecessary police chases have deadly results, when they could have been avoided by just tracking the escaping vehicle on the CCTV or just leaving it for the sake of public safety, and later arrest them by tracking their license plate.
This could have been avoided,me thinks -
Purpose of life
@ 2008-03-26 – 03:00:07
Can't be one single thing. It keeps changing according to our circumstances.Thats why we don't get bored, and life is never complete. We always have something to do,and there is always some unfinished task waiting for us.
People say a lot ...Don't they?- There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.
-Life is like an onion; you peel off one layer at a time and sometimes you weep.
Life is like a game of poker: If you don't put any in the pot, there won't be any to take out.

Whats the best time to go to bed? and whats the best time to wake up? Probably the bast time to go to bed is about two hours after sunset and the best time to wake up is an hour before sunrise.
The following used to be my grand dad's routine,in his youth, and probably throughout his life.
Its always good to see the sun rising (if its not cloudy).
So in the good old days they used to get a kick,if they were still in the bed at sunrise. There was no concept of breakfast, because the "legend" says that the stomach is not fully functional when we just woke up,and eating something so early always overloads the digestive system.
So after the mandatory early morning shower, and the trip to the mosque for morning prayers, there was a mandatory trip to the local park.
The first meal was between 10 and 11 am.By that time the stomach would be begging for food, and anything they ate was instantly digested. The 11 o clock meal used to be a three/four or five course meal with a hell lot of fats and carbohydrates, and everything else.Soon after the meal they had to brush teeth and wash hands. The legend said that leaving the food sticking to the teeth and mouth caused tooth decay and bad breath,so washing my mouth immediately after the meal solved that problem.
The next and last meal used to be about an hour after sunset, once again by that time, the stomach was already begging for it.So by eating only two times in 24 hours, they used to make the most out of their digestive system, and at the same time keep their teeth healthy. The other no no was to drink water before the meal, and immediately after the meal.Water had to be taken either in the middle of the meal or about half an hour after the meal. The legend said that by drinking water just before meal,we dilute the digestive juices, making them less effective, and by giving a gap of half an hour after the meal,we let the digestive juices mix with the food for maximum effect.
Ah well, old wisdom.Wish i could do all that

First day of Spring (Nicked from Alec)
@ 2008-03-21 – 21:13:19
Yesterday on the 20th of March the sun crossed the celestial equator at 0548 GMT and entered the Northern Hemisphere.
This means that at 0548 GMT yesterday, spring has started in the Northern and autumn in the southern hemisphere. The earth's North pole has tilted back towards the sun,and from today onwards there will be no sunset on the North pole.
And yesterday at 0548GMT the earth was at "even keel".Days and nights were of equal length on the equator,12 hours each.
And the sun started to set on the southern Pole.
So much has happened yesterday......
Here in Preston, the birds are chirping, butterflies all around me,and the flowers are blooming (Not) -
Knowledge is power
@ 2008-03-21 – 15:34:52
Traditionally, the adults don't tell us anything about sex, puberty,or any related thing until we are adults. It is good and it is bad.Good because this "lack of knowledge" kept me an innocent child, and i did not know how and why a baby is born until i was an adult myself.
And again as per tradition,it's the dad's duty to provide sexual education to the young man who is about to enter puberty.
My dad asked one of my school teachers to do it.He called the whole class to the school's auditorium. He started with telling us that there are going to be some great changes in our body, and that we are about to become responsible owners of a "reproductive machine"
I was shocked to know, about the new powers the little "ding dong" is about to get,and how much health and cleanliness hazards are associated with it.
I learn t everything about how to have sex,how not to have sex,how to clean myself after sex or a "blow out".It was a very informative session. The teacher recommended a few books for further reading.I could not borrow them from the school's library,as someone already borrowed it.Instead i bought them from the market. One thing i missed somehow was shaving the pubes. It is essential in our lifestyle,at least once every forty days, but the recommended duration is once a week.
So i was 17 when i appeared for the selection tests for Pakistan Air force.During the medical examination,i had to get my "bits| checked by the doctor. It was at that point when the doctor had a look at my "Assets" and asked me if i was a Muslim or not? and i said yes.
He asked me if i ever had the traditional session(s) of sexual education,i said yes. Then he asked me why i didn't shave my pubes? It was news for me that we have to do it.He gave me an appointment for next week. The next week i went back with my first ever "shave" and a lots of cuts and bruises.
That completed my "education".
But it was not until i moved to England that i came to know about all those sexually transmitted infections.I knew about a few, including AIDS,but did not know that there are so many.
Ah well, you always learn, and there is no end

Death
@ 2008-03-19 – 17:24:27
I had a younger brother, who died at the age of 3,in 1982.I was 9 years old at the time of his death. He was very lively and playful little kid.
Altogether we were 5 brothers and sisters including him.He died at night in the hospital, and me and my other brother and two sisters were fast asleep at home. Our aunt was baby sitting for us.I remember my dad waking me up,in the middle of the night. He looked very sad.He told me that "Ahmar"(my late brother's name) wants to see you.I looked at his little cot,and he was not there.I asked my dad,and he said he is in the hospital.
Dad took all four of us to the hospital, and there was our little brother breathing his last.
I still remember, him trying to remove the oxygen mask strapped to his face. His lips were dark blue, and he was in lot of pain.Gasping for air,and all the time holding the oxygen mask with his little hands. The doctor was there, and for a moment he whispered something to my dad,and my mom. Then he removed the oxygen mask.Ahmer was not going to live, and they wanted to make his last moments as comfortable as possible.
Me and my other younger brother did understand what is happening, but our little sister who was 4 at that time was too young to understand anything. She held Ahmer's hand and asked him to get up and play with her.
He opened his eyes for a brief moment.I remember him smiling slightly, and then he closed his little eyes.
We were driven back home by one of our cousins.Dad and mom remained in the hospital.
But then, all of us were kids,so was i.We fell asleep. Then in the morning,we woke up to find many of our relatives and friends of my dad and mom ,all around us.Ahmer was there in a little cot, dresses in two pieces of white sheets. It looked like he was sleeping peacefully.I touched his face and it was ice cold.
A few hours later,Ahmer was taken to the grave yard.Me my dad and my younger brother were there, along with many of our family members and friends.
The grave was ready, and Ahmer's face was uncovered for the last time for us to see.
We children were then taken away by some family member.
The next day we went to the graveyard with dad.Our little sister was there too.She asked dad, where is Ahmer?Dad pointer towards a little heap of soil, and told her "Ahmer lives here now".
She asked,Why? Didn't he want to live with us? I always gave him my toys! Dad said nothing in reply.
Ying yang,and life balances itself.
Mom had a cute little baby boy in 1993.Our beloved youngest brother. -

What the FBI was doing there in the first place?
@ 2008-03-17 – 03:05:20
So a precision guided missile probably fired by a US drone hits a mud house inside Pakistani territory bordering Afghanistan.
Hmmmm, the USA were very kind by acknowledging that yes it was their missile, and that they have always informed Pakistan "after" carrying out attacks inside Pakistani territory.
As usual the governament of Pakistan's response...."Thank you sir,you are always welcome".
So the USA are now justifying their recent attack, and many other similar actions by saying that four FBI agents who were dining at a restaurant in Islamabad were injured in a bomb blast. The question is,what on earth so many diplomats,FBI agents and other important foreign nationals were doing at a public restaurant?
Is this a CIA plan to justify a full fledged attack on the country?
Has the war machine abandoned their plans to attack Iran,or do they want to deal with two "targets" in one go.Iran and Pakistan.
Or am i a fool, letting my imagination go wild? -

POLITICAL HOT AIR COLLECTOR
Political windbags have always been allowed to spew their hot air directly into the atmosphere. Now, once wasted energy can be put to use. When placed above a podium or built into the ceiling of a broadcast studio, this special hood can be used to direct the hot gases into a building's heating ducts helping to warm the building. Entire city blocks can be heated depending on who is behind the microphone! Works equally well for Liberals and Conservatives. Larger forum models are available.a) heating duct connection
b) collector hood
c) hot gases rise to collector hood
d) heat resistant microphone
e) podium or broadcast console

For Bank card holders
@ 2008-03-14 – 13:27:37
I just discovered something.I may be slow

On the back of your Credit / Debit or Cash Card there is a contact phone number. The greedy buggers give a 0845 number that costs about 5p a minute or more to call them.
But there is another number. Its a land line number starting with 0044 1.They say on the back of your card that if you are abroad you may call that number.
This number can be dialed from your UK mobile phone, and they will attend it.But if you dial it from your land line number, they may or may not attend.
If you have inclusive minutes in you mobile contract for land line numbers,Calling the bank will be free of cost, and definitely better than calling the 0845 number. -
Thankyou Papa Google

Today i was about to be ripped off

I discovered a cheap website on Google shopping www.lx-electronics.com.
The prices were fabulous, but too good to be true.I read the "contact us" page, they gave an address in London, but no telephone numbers.
There was an email address,on which i sent an email, but did not get any reply.Usually there is an initial automated response, but in this case there was none.
It looked a bit suspicious,as the address they gave in their website was of holborne London.I googled the address and found that there is another company registered at exactly the same address, but their website was giving a telephone number.I called that telephone number, and some woman attended the phone. After a short conversation,i realized that they too were aware that www.lx-electronics.com is using their address, but they don't exist there.
After further googling, and reading the online discussion forums,i found that the website is registered on Yahoo server, tried to call yahoo, but there was series of automated messages on yahoo side, and i couldn't get through to a human adviser
So now i am 99% sure that www.lx-electronics.com is a great big scam, mainly to collect people's personal and credit card details.
Whoever made this website, sure is an evil genius.Respect
So help me bloggers to be 100% sure

Scenes
@ 2008-03-10 – 01:22:48
15 years ago,it used to snow a lot.Now we hardly get any during winters. This a piccy of the winter snowfall on the mountains surrounding my home town in Pakistan.
Sometimes it is weird.Specially in the month of February, the temperature in the valey is around 30 C,but there is snow up on the mountains, and its only an hour's drive, and we can see it.If it gets too hot, people invade the mountains, and soon they are making snowmen, and wearing thick jackets.
Winter used to be a lot of fun,but the freaking global warming has menaced it all.
There used to be flocks and flocks of birds migrating from north,in the months of October and November. It doesn't happen anymore, maybe because the mountains in the north from where the birds used to migrate, are warm enough now.
This is an old Church, near the town center, build during the British colonial rule.As churches are being abandoned here in Britain, this church in a predominantly Muslim country is always full on Sunday.
These are the mountains in the north east of the city.Highest peak is about 9000 feet high.In my teen ages i have conquered them all

The eastern mountains. As a child i strongly believed that the sun lives beyond them, and the world ends there.

Dog owner's home
@ 2008-03-07 – 12:31:41
1. The dog lives here. You don't.
2. If you don't want dog hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.
3. Yes, she has some disgusting habits. So do I and so do you. What's your point?
4. OF COURSE she smells like a dog.
5. It's her nature to try to sniff your crotch. Please feel free to sniff hers.
6. I like her a lot better than I like most people.
7. To you she's a dog. To me she's an adopted daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly. I have no problem with any of these things.
8. Dogs are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about whether they have the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and if they get pregnant you can sell the pups.
9. The same applies for the cats, except they will ignore you... until you're asleep. -
The Danish must be so proud of themselves
@ 2008-03-03 – 15:18:27
The Danish newspapers feel victorious once again by printing the cartoons which are considered disrespectful about the holy prophet mohammed by Muslims around the world.
Their unnecessary act provoked demonstrations in many Muslim countries including Pakistan
But the thing is that, why do we expect them to respect our religion and religious figures?
We should not be bothered if they print cartoons or comic books. -
