  • Banks do manipulate

A friend of mine went to the cash machine to check his balance and saw that there are 3500 pounds in his account. He has a basic account with no credit/debit cards or overdraft facility .He went to the counter showed his ID and withdrew 3500 pounds.
As per his knowledge he had 500 pounds in his account, but since the cashier confirmed that he has 3500 pounds in the account he went ahead with the transaction.
Happy but surprised he came home, told nothing to anybody. The next day he received a letter from His bank that he is 3000 pounds overdrawn and need to come to the bank and talk about it. He went to the bank, and they led him to the manager. The manager straight away asked for his bank card, when he handed over the bank card to her, she asked him to go home and bring back the money he had withdrawn the previous day, and give it back to the bank. He showed her the cash point print out that the system was showing this amount of money, and he re-confirmed it with the cashier and then withdraw it, and that it’s not his fault.
The manager refused to return his card and insisted that he should go home, and bring the money back. He left the bank, went home and came back with the money, on the bank’s entrance he printed a mini statement from the cash point, and to his surprise the bank had done fake transactions to and from his account during the time he was away.
They had used his bank card to manipulate transactions from his account, to cover up their error.
He went to the bank manager and asked for an explanation, but she did not give any.

He did not return the money, and now is looking for a lawyer to prosecute the bank for fraud.

They hold our money, but the are not always honest.

  • Reluctantly i applied for a credit card

:no:To this date safriz owes no money to any body, not even the bank.
I never had any credit card,or any overdraft limits.
Never asked for it,and never had any problems without these so called facilities.
Today is a very important day of my life as today i received my first credit card and the bank gave me overdraft limit.
I applied for credit card, but did not ask for any overdraft limits on my account. So they want me to borrow money from them, although i don't want to.But when the money is offered in a plate,it's hard to resist:yes:.
Lets see if i will join the millions of people in this country who are living with debts or i will spend it wisely.I will be better off,not touching it at all.:zz:

  • Salman rushdi's nighthood? i got a suggestion.

Queen bestows knighthood on Rushdie, fair enough.
How about the Saudi king awarding photography awards to the three paparazzi s who chased Diana on her last trip,or literature award for Rene Delorm, the author of a book revealing her secrets?
Or an award for the ingenuity of Nazi Authors? Millions read their literature and liked it.
And yes,how about awarding best computer games award to sony corporation's "Fall of Man" ?
    How about it?

  • Fast asleep

    Very fast asleep.:zz:
This Saturday, while driving back from Birmingham,i fell asleep. It was not a deep sleep, but rather a state of trans in the beginning.Cars appeared to change shapes, and i heard voices.
I was floating between the real and the dream worlds.
I had a few friends sitting with me,and i was relying on them to keep me awake and alert, but at one occasion all 5 of us snoozed. When i woke up,the car was going at about 40mph in the middle lane:oops:
There was not much traffic on the motorway,so nothing went too wrong.XX(
My perception of distance became inaccurate, and i braked hard on two occasions, when the car in front was still at safe distance.
I did stop at the next services, and took my one hour nap,and asked a friend to drive, while i was in the passenger seat, keeping an eye on him.We arrived home safely.
Morale of the story: Never sleep and drive.

  • He stared at me and i wet my pants

Me in Birmingham safari park.It was ok to look at the lions wandering around my car,but when this male lion sat down a few feet away from me and looked very interested in me,i had to drive away,as he might be considering me for a snack :))

  • Time to save the adults

With one in every 5 under 18's in the UK involved in some kind of crime or more often violence,it's time to make laws to protect Adults from the Kids.
More and more laws role out every now and then for child protection, and the result in my opinion is a spoiled generation of weed smoker hoodies.
Back in 60's when parents had much more control on their children, they could train them better, even smack them when required. Now parents can't smack their kids, and the kids grow up to smack neighbors and innocent people.A person who has been hit, knows how it feels, but someone who has never had this taste, won't feel the victim's pain when perpetrating violence. Not surprised if the current generation of teen agers ruthlessly jump on people's faces on simple arguments. So it's time to protect parents, and adults against the atrocities of under 18's,i say.:-/

  • Late night blogging

So i take my own advice and off to bed.See you soon "Insomniacs" :))

  • Nuclear terrorism,a myth

A “dirty bomb” is one type of a “radiological dispersal device” (RDD) that combines a conventional explosive, such as dynamite, with radioactive material. The terms dirty bomb and RDD are often used interchangeably in the media. Most RDDs would not release enough radiation to kill people or cause severe illness - the conventional explosive itself would be more harmful to individuals than the radioactive material. However, depending on the scenario, an RDD explosion could create fear and panic, contaminate property, and require potentially costly cleanup. Making prompt, accurate information available to the public could prevent the panic sought by terrorists.

A dirty bomb is in no way similar to a nuclear weapon or nuclear bomb. A nuclear bomb creates an explosion that is millions of times more powerful than that of a dirty bomb. The cloud of radiation from a nuclear bomb could spread tens to hundreds of square miles, whereas a dirty bomb’s radiation could be dispersed within a few blocks or miles of the explosion. A dirty bomb is not a “Weapon of Mass Destruction” but a “Weapon of Mass Disruption,” where contamination and anxiety are the terrorists’ major objectives.

The procedure of making a nuclear device is still a closely guarded secret. If terrorists get hold of the components i.e fissile material or some other parts.Still putting them together to make the Nuke is no easy task.
A dirty bomb is not at all a nuclear device. So a real threat of Nuclear terrorism is far fetched, and only exists in Hollywood movies or Pentagon propaganda, not in real life.

  • Pedophilia

Britain is clamping down on pedos, and there are suggestions, that pedos should be chemically treated to reduce their libido. While the Americans make their names and addresses available to public,Britain is not ready to do that.
Don't know how the reader will take my opinion, but i think these are extreme steps.
People change. They don't necessarily remain the same through out their lives. If a man was once involved in some form of pedophilia,it does not mean that he will continue doing it for ever.Although there are no guarantees.
labeling them as pedophiles for life does not necessarily help in stopping them.Tagging them, shaming them in public, leaves them with nothing to lose, and they may find no reason to change themselves.
A bit ashamed to mention it here, but you bloggers don't know me in real life,so i feel free to share many dark secrets with you.
As a child i was sexually touched,on three occasions by three different men.I am 33 now,and i never ever said this to anyone.
I was too young to understand exactly, what was being done to me,but even then i understood that it's something wrong. On all three occasions,i managed to run away, before things could go too wrong, and remained too confused to tell it to anyone, but finally did manage to recover on my own.
Out of the three, two men still live near my house. Many years have passed now.The good thing is that both of them are married dads now.
I never talk to them,i know all their family. If i compare them with what they were, there is no comparison.
Both of them haven't got a hint of their past left in them.
Without taking their side,i say that if they were shamed in public,or tagged permanently, they would not have got the chance to change.
I am sure they are very good dads and caring husbands now. This may not be the case in every pedophiles case.
But people do change completely,as there is no human who is absolute evil.

  • Immigrants should learn english?I got problem with that

I am from Pakistan, moved to Enxialand(it's next door to scotland ;) ) a few years ago.
All my life,at school and then at college,i learnt everything in English.I got a good vocabulary, and until a few months ago,i was good at punctuations and English grammar.
Arrived at Manchester airport, and what the hell,i could not grasp a single word of what the people were saying.I never heard that accent before,it sounded like a complete different language. If i started to speak my "Queen's English" :),in return i heard a barrage of "Wha,Whaa,Whaaa".
Started to live in the Northwest and had to resort to sign language.:>>
People would approach me speak as fast as they could, and then assume that i can't speak English, then give me a sinister smile and walk away.Same is the problem with most immigrants living in this country,it's not exactly the language, but it's the 101 different accents that confuse us.
Out of my own choice,i have learnt Glaswegian accent.
At least i will confuse the English men/women in a British accent instead of confusing them in my Pakistani accent(we too got an accent for English language ;) )
Now if the person in front of me does not slow down,i start my Scottish English,i know that most people south of carlisle rarely understand :))

  • WHAT ABOUT WOMEN?

  • Breasts

A guy goes over to his friend's house, rings the bell, and the wife answers.

    "Hi, is Tony home?"

"No, he went to the store."

"Well, you mind if I wait?"

    "No, come in."

They sit down and the friend says "You know Nora, you have the greatest breasts I have ever seen. I'd give you a hundred bucks if I could just see one."

Nora thinks about this for a second and figures what the hell - a hundred bucks. She opens her robe and shows one. He promptly thanks her and throws a hundred bucks on the table.

They sit there a while longer and Chris says "They are so beautiful I've got to see the both of them. I'll give you another hundred bucks if I could just see the both of them together."

Nora thinks about this and thinks what the hell, opens her robe, and gives Chris a nice long look. Chris thanks her, throws another hundred bucks on the table, and then says he can't wait any longer and leaves.

A while later Tony arrives home and his wife says "You know, your weird friend Chris came over."

Tony thinks about this for a second and says "Well did he drop off the 200 bucks he owes me?"

  • Bigbrother / Bigsister talk

I am not really BB fan.But this time they made the series really interesting and unique.
So many gorgeous women in one place (Woo Hoo):p
Initially i thought that the girls will start having clashes,as usual |-|,but they got on very well.
They proved that if there are no men around, girls can live at peace.
The reason is very simple. When men are around, they praise the women, try to get some attention, making her rather proud and rude.
When no men are around, there is no one praising them day and night and smiling at their every move,so they stay at ground level.
Big brother as they say is a social experiment. The only Dude in the house has been bearing the brunt of living in a women only world.Am not surprised that he has broken into tears so many times. He is in a hard place.I hope he wins BB.;)

No outcry over The Royal Navy's latest nuclear submarine

  • Fighting the giants

Been banking with RBS for the last 3 years.Recently i transferred money between my accounts, and left no money in one of the accounts.
Forgot theta 3 of my direct debits were being paid from that 0 balance account. The first direct debit was refused on 5th of may,the bank sent no letter.
After 10 days two more direct debits were refused,no letter from bank. Then after 7 direct debits were refused the bank wrote me a letter, stating an overdraft of 280 pounds.
I have a basic account with RBS with no overdrafts.I thought it is an error, and phoned the bank. They said that these are service charges for refused direct debit.I asked them, what kind of service it this, that the bank waited until 7 direct debits were refused, and then just sent me a bill.
A week after the first letter was received,i got anther bill form the bank, and they somehow managed to increase it to 403 pounds, donno how.Although i had stopped all direct debits from this accounts already.
Really got pissed off by the bank's actions, and that no body bothers to offer any explanation. No matter who you talk to,not even their head office.
So i am taking the matter to the court. They are corporate giants, and have the best lawyers on their side, and i may end up paying more than what i have to pay now.But they want me to shut up an pay the amount, without seeing any wrong doing on their side, and i don't accept it.Have talked to a law firm, and they will start the proceedings next week.Lets see how it goes.:>>
